Sleeps are the number of times you'll go to bed before game day arrives. It's the same as counting the number of midnights between now and the game — a simple, fun way to measure how close we are to kickoff.
If the game is tomorrow, that's 1 sleep. If it's the day after tomorrow, that's 2 sleeps. Game day itself is 0 sleeps — it's finally here!
Counting sleeps is how kids (and let's be honest, adults too) have counted down to Christmas morning for generations. We think Tennessee football deserves the same excitement. Whether you're counting down to the Third Saturday in October or the season opener, sleeps makes the wait feel more real and more fun.

Sleeps and days are almost the same, but not quite. "Days until" typically counts from now to the game time (including partial days), while sleeps counts whole nights of sleep. If a Saturday game is 3 calendar days away, you might sleep 2 or 3 more times depending on when you're checking. We count sleeps as midnights remaining, which is the most intuitive interpretation.
